Arethuse a tremor of ether
("...) La rue assourdissante autour de moi hurlait. |
Agile et noble, avec sa jambe de statue. |
C. Baudelaire - A une passante
("...) The street all around roared with a deafening sound. |
Agile and graceful, her leg was like a statue's. |
C. Baudelaire - To a Passer-By
With its slender silhouette, Arethuse is a subwoofer emitting a deep and subtle, almost carnal bass. Its objective is to support the diffusion of bass frequencies for a firm and powerful sound reproduction of the first octaves.
The outlet ports of the cone allow its sound to creep along the ground, making the quality of the base even more captivating. |
Description of the casing
The subwoofer Arethuse constitutes a single element, in the form of a chimney with openings in its lower portion.
Its footprint gives a very good stability.
Technical characteristics
Arethuse was conceived with the goal of obtaining a high sound level at lower octaves with a high level of analysis.
The choice was therefore oriented towards the use of a 460mm diameter speaker loaded by a transmission line system.
The range of frequencies reproduced by Arethuse makes it omnidirectional.
For the lowest frequencies, the drag depends upon the architecture of the listening space, so the diagram of this characteristic cannot be generalized.
